My stretch in the Navy, ca. 1942-2000.

Willison enlisted in the Navy with the understanding he was to be trained to be a Naval Photographer. Things didn't work out that way, but in the end he says it was a great, life-shaping experience. In his memoir he recounts several different experiences he had while he served in the Navy. He was happy to fill a position operating a movie projector on board his ship because he had experience in this, enjoyed it, it required several promotions, and gave him an interestingly unique job on the ship. He speaks of his investigation of the LDS Church during his service, and of the religious experiences he had.
